Therapeutic services for looked after and adopted children, their families and allied professionals.

Intervention plans are attachment and trauma focused and are informed by the principles of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). This way of working will always include support for the carer but may also include the young person and/or some individualised therapy. This approach is the most effective and evidence based form of intervention to reduce placement breakdown. Intervention plans may also incorporate training and consultation to help others understand the individual's difficulties and needs. Dr. Grace Major works with adoption agencies via the adoption support fund (ASF).

Regular or one off consultation sessions can be offered to support staff and professionals in understanding the needs of children.

Consultation is particularly helpful alongside specific training packages. Please get in touch to discuss individual needs and for further information.
